Atlanta Hypnotherapy – Karen Michael
Feeling stuck and just not sure how to move forward? Learn about Atlanta Hypnotherapy
You are successful in your career, and you have always been able to break through any barriers to meeting your goals…except that one thing.
That one thing keeps you feeling stuck and inadequate and frustrated.
That one habit, pattern, fear, or past experience that holds you back from the life you have been pursuing and striving for.
You’re not afraid of hard work, but you’re so tired of feeling defeated. Maybe you tried to make that last cigarette your very last. Maybe you quit for several days or weeks only to surrender in a flash of stress. Or, you might be feeling helpless over sex or intimacy challenges. Your body can’t seem to respond the way you want it to, and you’re feeling embarrassed, anxious, or stressed about the distance you feel from your partner.
Or maybe you’ve been lying awake at night, reaching for sleep that’s just out of your grasp. You’ve been so desperate to hold it together but you’re feeling the cracks start to form.
Those aren’t the only issues our Atlanta hypnotherapist can assist with. Hypnotherapy can assist with trauma, fear, anxiety and phobias, behavior change (like difficulty with weight loss, substance use, etc), pain management, stress management, and more.
You might be wondering… when is hypnotherapy beneficial?
Atlanta Hypnotherapy can be utilized to help with a variety of challenges, including

What is hypnotherapy?
Have you ever been travelling from one place to another only to arrive at your destination and not remember driving there? Think of the last time you had a vivid daydream; you likely didn’t notice the passing of time while engrossed in your imagination. These are examples of normal, everyday trance states that most people already experience.
Our Atlanta hypnotherapist will help take you into a state of focused attention. In this state, your conscious mind can move your attention from the outside world and focus on your internal world and experience. You don’t lose sight or full awareness of the world around you; you shift your attention from the external to the internal.
There are different levels of trance states, and each state corresponds with an increase or decrease of specific brainwaves. These trance states range from a relaxed awareness (like that space just between awake and asleep) to a deep state of internal focus where your subconscious can be more easily accessed. This allows increased access to the emotions and insight, creating new learning about the issues at hand, past trauma, behavioral patterns or troubling feelings and beliefs and leaves you better equipped to create new understanding and make significant changes in your life.
Many people believe that hypnotherapy places clients in an altered state of mind where they lose control or can be made to do something silly. However, this is not the truth. You do not lose control, and you cannot be forced to do something you do not want to do. You actually gain more control as a result of hypnotherapy.
How does hypnotherapy work?
Your Atlanta hypnotherapist helps you into a relaxed state of focused attention. Once you are in the desired state, you are much more receptive to therapeutic suggestion. The suggestions made are only related to your stated issue or concern. For example, the hypnotherapist may suggest positive statements to change the direction of negative thought patterns.
All suggestions are therapeutic in nature. Some are direct, i.e. “You do not smoke.” Some are future-focused, for use when you are not in a trance. When you call to make an appointment for your Atlanta hypnotherapy, ask your hypnotherapist how they approach suggestions therapy.
Is hypnotherapy a legitimate approach?
Hypnotherapy is an evidence-based approach to a variety of issues, including but not limited to:
- Chronic pain (Hypnotherapy is recognized by the American Psychological Association as an effective approach to many different types of pain relief.)
- Autoimmune Diseases
- Stress

- Sexual Dysfunction (Premature Ejaculation, Impotence, Female Sexual Problems)
